Early Style Scissor Keepers
Inspired by an early slipper sewing case from my collection. Hand stitched,
these are made from worn and aged osnaburg. Each has its own little motif
cross-stitched on the front. I’ve attached a loop for hanging if you choose to
do so. They measure 7” by 2 ½” and comes with the old scissors shown.

Primitive Keepsake Sewing Box
Covered in aged antique reproduction brown calicos. I
wanted it to have a make-do look so the lid is a different brown calico from the
base. All worn to look and feel old ~ darker than pictured, my flash brightens
things a bit. Hand-stitched to the top on aged osnaburg are a few sprigs of
pussy willow…always reminds me of spring! This has a layer of old cotton batting
between so that it may be used for a pin keep.
Tucked inside is a strawberry emery made from vintage tan velvet with old wool
for the cap…stuffed with clean sawdust. Also included are a few brown buttons
and a lovely old little spool of darning silk…. has a wonderful little cat
graphic on it. I have added lots of old pins to give it a more finished and used
look. Just love the feel of this like a little found treasure you never want to
put down. Approx. 4” by 3” and 2” high.

Cloth Spool Bird Pin Keeps
These little birds where inspired by early ones found, although but not bought
due to price ~ LOL, at an antique store here in PA. Each one is hand-drawn
directly onto calico without a pattern for an early folky look. They measure 5
½” – 6” long and about 3’ tall. They have an old wooden spool hidden in their
body. Made with antique reproduction brown calico’s and ticking. Old pins
shown are included.

Primitive Spring Button Bag and Needle
book
This sweet little bag is made from nubby aged osnaburg. Hand stitched “April
Showers bring May Flowers” and vintage mother of pearl button flowers.
Hanger is made using old trim. Bag measures 6 ¼” by 5” (hangs 13” total)
Also include in this set is a simple hand-stitched needle book made from
worn tan calico with little green flowers. Inside is lined with osnaburg and
a few pages made from brown homespun for your needles. Lots of old pins,
needles and buttons included. Tuck this inside the button bag or display
alone. Measures 5 ¾” by 4”
