“Celebrate the
Freedom”

36” tall Uncle Sam’s doing what he loves, celebrating his freedom. This
dapper chap was created with a multiple of mediums. His head was
handsculpted from paperclay without the use of a mold. His hat was also made
from paperclay. He has paperclay hands as well.
His body is cloth, along with his legs and boots. He’s been rag stuffed and
sits nicely when placed, however, I have added a hanging loop in case you’d
like to display him using that.
Sam wears handpainted, red/white striped trousers, coupled with a blue star
print long tailed jacket with gold eppelets and a unique closure of military
brass buttons. He also has brass buttons on the cuffs as well. Underneath his
jacket, he wears a stars and striped shirt with a ruffled collar down the
front with vintage buttons handstitched on top.
|

He holds a 2 ˝” x 5” stained bag which holds a rolled up
copy of the Declaration of Independence tied with scrim; sprigs of preserved
annie; rosehips and a handmade flag with handstitched red woolen stripes and
osnaburg star, pinned onto a stick. I handstitched “USA” in red wool and several
blue woolen stars onto the outside of the bag. I comes with a 13” strap of
stained cheesecloth which will hang around his neck.
Lastly, he wears blue painted on boots with 6 vintage buttons handstitched to
each boot. Sam’s been heavily stained and comes signed/dated as an original, one
of a kind design.

"Sailing Annie”

17” Annie is sailing of a different kind, a kite, that is! She’s all dressed
in her dirtied blue ticking striped overalls, complete with pockets to stash
any seashells she might find while sailing her kite along the shore.
Her blouse was made from a repro vintage sandbucket Nantucket style print of
red, white and blue.

“Mz Ross”

25” Mz. Ross is ready to celebrate all the patriotic holidays coming up. She’s
made her a new dress for the occasions as well. It’s made from a bias print
stars and stripe fabric, trimmed with red/white stripes for cuffs, gathered
collar and bloomer cuffs as well. A piece of vintage eyelet was used as an
inset on the skirt. She wears bloomers made from a complimenting
red/white/blue star print.
Her blue shoes were painted on and, the entire outfit was trimmed in very
unique circles of Americana colored woolens with a rusted bell on top.
Mz. Ross has a handsculpted nose, eyebrows and separately stitched eyelids
covering her hand drawn on, penciled eyes of blue; and stitched on ruby red
lips. Locks of wavy blonde hair peek out from under her very wide brimmed
velveteen hat with vintage lace trim.

mended spots on her face, especially. She has worn
facial features, faded rust red roving hair and wears her paperhat with
vintage stars.
Her osnaburg kite, trimmed with red and a red tail, suspends 11” in the sky
via wire. Ann comes heavily stained, rag stuffed and has been signed/dated
as an original, one of a kind design.

crosstitched star. Both are attached to sticks. Mz. Ross plans to give them
to children along the parade path to wave in the light breeze as the
soldiers walk proudly down the parade path.
